Renovation - Clear View Window & Door Company
This building was first constructed in the early 1920's and served as a neighborhood general store. The property has served as the business office of a local window, door & siding supply and installation company. The owners were determined to re-establish the character of the building within its neighborhood, as well as update its use to the public as a welcoming and comfortable office and product consultation center. Interior and exterior studies involve handicap access enhancements.

Renovation and Addition - Zahorik-Newcomb Residence
The design produced a very acceptable update to the interior and exterior of this 100+ year old home within an historic registered community. This design involved extending the existing kitchen area to provide additional common family activity areas while presenting a more simplified and dramatic use with the new plan. More significantly, further design evaluation provided for an effective mudroom, storage and entrance to be introduced to the house
from the primary side road parking area.
The architectural concepts and documentation
for this project were efficiently prepared and
submitted to a strict historic community review
panel of building standards were examined.
The entire design; including specific site
components and project specifications,
were fully approved within the first review.

Facility Prototype - Johns Hopkins Hospital - Neurological Surgical Gamma Knife Unit
Johns Hopkins Hospital latest technology at work as provided by the newly constructed surgical unit specifically designed for brain surgery with the Leksell Gamma Knife (virtual scalpel). The initial intent for computer generated modeling was for the architectural design consultants to test plan use locations and pre-visualize interior concepts to create a relaxing environment in this sub-terranian, shielded surgical environment. The developmental and final model capabilities exceeded these expectations.
Custom equipment model:
Leksell Gamma Knife Unit, dolleys, gurneys, cabinetry:
The surgical equipment within the constructed and rendered facility model was entirely custom generated for this project from exact specifications since earlier, or fully-assembled computer prototypes had not existed. This design study aided complex pre-orientations for various hospital administrators, contractors, doctors & patients.

wireframe view of constructed model
A conceptual view across the common areas that define a much more expressive interior. The potential of new spatial alterations within the same roof contrast its potentials from the previous, and under-valued, single-level planning scheme.

A conceptual view from the proposed patio conversion to breakfast area while facing the dining area. A Living area inglenook is visible in the background, while a central fireplace hearth was retained from the existing conditions and set with a mantle surround.
Pre-planning evaluation of the existing structure permitted a dramatic and much more efficient re-planning of the residence, with minimal or no disruption of the original roof, floors and foundation perimeter.

Renovation and Addition - Weng Residence
The existing house and property was acquired with the intention that the current conditions of the house required extended effort to update failing systems, sparce bedroom/bath area, and a lack of interaction with property features, interior to exterior views, as well as daylighting considerations.
The new renovations prepare a very space-effective and cost-effective approach to allow the building shell to become a very progressive design with much more multi-function use and comfort upgrades.

Addition and Conversion - Blymeir Residence
The existing residence was designed and prepared for construction by Exhibit A Model in 1999.
The latest project, in a brief overview as shown here, involved a conversion & addition from the pre-existing 2-car garage to provide for an in-law living suite. The immediate concerns created withing the design were for the mobility limitations of the new family member that would need variations of spatial and social requirements for the extra living areas. The new addition that involved the conversion of a previously un-insulated and un-conditioned garage enhanced the quality of family care as well as further enhanced the entry, storage and social common areas. A new and complementary detatched 2-car garage featuring a very spacious attic storage bay was simultaneously designed to complete the scope of work and maximize the construction efforts for a very good value in return for the home owner,
Addition - Norris Residence
Following and sucessful porch addition and street front enhancement as Phase 1, the second phase for this residence involved an dramatic interior enhancement to provide a luxurious Master Bedroom with a Master Bathroom designed with a unique step-in spa tub that was elevated from a beedroom space to enhance the wooded rear property atmosphere. A challenging intersection of existing shallow rooflines was very sucessfully resolved from the the addition of the new front porch and completed with great satisfaction as the new, spacious and practical bedroom & bath addition was completed.
